In my case it was Eugene McCarthy when I was 8 years old.

3. Theodore Roosevelt
I handed out canned hams to voters in his abortive 1912 run on the Bull Moose platform. We lost because we didn't have a kosher alternative.

6. CARTER
In california i was 13, my parents were both Republican, my mom voted for Carter though, which still burns dad up. I think history proved that was the last time that BOTH men were decent. Back then I looked at it in a DEM VS REP thing but now I realize that either of them would have tried their best. BOY IS THAT MISSING NOW

9. Rick Zbur for Congress (CA) , age 33
He was trying for the seat of popular & effective moderate Republican Steve Horn. Lots of Democrats have tried and failed.

He's now on the board at Lambda Legal. I don't know what else he does.
