Poll question: Favorite SARAH VAUGHAN recording? |
|
As I mentioned in an earlier thread, jazz legend Sarah Vaughan passed away 14 years ago today. In memory of the Divine One, I thought I'd take this poll.

it was all over popular radio. My parents and grandparents were always playing music, more than watching television, so I was lucky to hear a lot of great music when I was young. Every day when we walked in from school my Mom had on American Bandstand. My Dad liked Big Band. My great grandfather liked Scott Joplin rags and Stephen Foster. My Mom's parents liked classical. Musically, life was good.

7. Yes! That's a terrific one. |

I have Sarah's IN THE LAND OF HI-FI on CD. I thought about listing some tracks from it, but stuck instead to her charted singles.

To see and hear her sing it live was breathtaking - on disc, the two CD set "In The City Of Lights" comes the closest.
Everything else is a distant second.
