What was the best retail job you've ever had?
For me it was also the only retail job: Williams-Sonoma

Whenever a customer brought something back, sometimes they'd give it to us, so long as it was partially "destroyed". Such as the mini-muffin pan they folded in half, and then I unfolded it and still have it in my collection (that was in 1994.) I gave a baking stone to a friend after a customer literally soaked it in olive oil and then complained that it smoked when she tried to bake with it. He still uses it as far as I know :D

It was easy stocking work, and one of my co-workers was a chef. He gave me the best flourless chocolate cake recipe ever (I even later sold some of the cakes to coffee shops.) Cool people there, even if at the time I couldn't afford anything we sold...
