O Texas, my Texas...
:eyes:

Pretty big talk for someone with the word 'anal' in his last name.

2. Wow
I mean...REALLY??? Should we greet each other by saying "O"? No, that might make someone think of orgasms....Heaven as a greeting? It might work in Texas, speaking as a Native Texan..."Are you heaven a nice day?" :banghead:

3. He needs to look at the historical root of the word.
Then he might notice the similarities to his (seemingly) native Spanish version: Hola!

Hell! That even reminds me of the word "halo". Why not use that instead of "heaven"? At least then he'd be close to the old-style way of doing it.

I like the French one, "harou". Sounds like Scooby Doo :P

5. Sounds like a roomie from hell my Mom had.
In the hospital. The roomie was a Jehovah's witness and very proud of it. Mom said she yelled on the phone all the time and cussed in five languages.

She told mom not to use the word "helicopter" because it had "hell" in it.

I think I would have told her where to go. :wtf:

6. Texas town says goodbye to 'hello' (January 1997)

1997 / 01 / 17
KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- In this friendly little ranching town, "hello" is wearing out its welcome. And Leonso Canales Jr. is happy as heck. At his urging, the Kleberg County commissioners on Monday unanimously designated "heaven-o" as the county's official greeting. The reason: "hello" contains the word "hell." "When you go to school and church, they tell you 'hell' is negative and 'heaven' is positive,'" said the 56-year-old Canales, who owns the Kingsville Flea Market ... http://www.mndaily.com/1997/01/17/texas-town-says-goodbye-hello

'Heaveno' has received one heck of a response pall <February 1997>
KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) - ... Kingsville resident Leonso Canales Jr. has been inundated with telephone calls since he successfully lobbied Kleberg County commissioners last month to designate ''heaveno'' as the county's official greeting ... Some callers express support for the idea; others have jeered. One man has even claimed to be the true creator of heaveno. Carl Matthews, a North Carolina resident, says he introduced heaveno in an unpublished book he copyrighted in 1983, and that he has been using the greeting for more than 20 years ... http://lubbockonline.com/news/020897/heaveno.htm

So this story is, like, fifteen years old
