peanut butter cookies mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

its the recipe from the BH&G new cookbook
i have been paid to cook since 1976 and its the best cookbook in existence bar none
even has nutritional analysis for each recipe
i give it as a homewarming gift to everyone i know and later i drop my sweet julia childs (blessed are we to be able to call her holy name)on them when they are ready for the second semester
so here we go

ovens on to 375 degrees
1/2 c butter (i use lard it delivers a crispness no other fat can)
1/2 c peanut butter (i use extra crunchy for extra crunchiness)
1 1/4 c flour

ok lets stop here for a sec
take the butter and bpeanut butter and mixer them for 30 seconds dont go to much over on time
add 1/2 cup of the flour and

1/2 c sugar
1/2 c packed brown sugar or 1/4 c honey
1 egg (i use large what can i say in eggs size matters)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (i get mexican vanilla and its good so i usually double up on vanilla)
mixer all of this and then add the remaining 3/4 cup of flour
when its mixed out take a spoon or scoop (i use a 1/2 ounce scoop, makes 5 dozen with a 1/2 ounce scoop)and make balls
drop the dough balls on an ungreased cookie sheet
take a fork and press into the ball to flatten north to south then do it again east to west
sprinkle with sugar if you are so inclined
bake for 7 to 9 minute i go the full 9 but if you go over they brown fast so be carefull
