Does DU go out for everyone every night/morning at 3 A.M. Central? |
|
Or at 4 A.M. Eastern, or 2 A.M. Mountain, or 1 A.M. Pacific?
For about a half hour?
I guess that's when DU does routine maintenance, but it seems they could employ some redundancy on their servers in order to avoid that.
Or is it me?

Haven't been around much but I just had a redundancy issue with dupe posts because they were not going through, board seemed sluggish. Happened a little after 4 AM EST.

2. Sounds like it was just coming back to life when you came on |
|
It seems like a long time since I saw you post. If you've been away from DU, welcome back!
If not, sorry about that. :)

Maybe I'm late to the party, but I was wondering if you are the famous artist Jim Warren?

4. It's been that way for a couple of years now |
|
I think that's when the backup process kicks in, and the servers slow down.

7. IIRC, the system does a back up at that time every night and is not accessible. |
|
You might want to ask in the ATA forum, but I am pretty sure that is what happens.

I thought it must be something like that. But I was wondering if it could be some weird cron-related thing on my end.
Thanks! :hi:

Well, I don't know about EVERY night.
But enough to notice, yes.

13. Yep, I asked EarlG about this once |
|
He said DU does routine maintenance at that time. I've gotten used to it.
