Need help finding toolbar with back button! We can't figure out how we lost the thing |
|
but it is missing. We're pretty low tech here so any help anyone can give will be appreciated!

21. Yep, I finally got this! But who knew that "View" would supply the navigation toolbar? |
|
We assumed it was under "tools" and how were we to know any different?

2. did you try restarting? |
|
in the meantime you should be able to right click and get a pop-up menu that has "back" and "refresh" to tide you over until somebody with better advice comes along (or posts before me, as I am a slow typist ha)

5. Yep. I checked "navigation toolbar" after right clicking so am OK for the time being. |
|
Got the toolbar back. How could it become unchecked without our doing something in the first place?

6. while one would think every glitch with computers would have some logical explanation |
|
I have come to the conclusion that they are, in fact, inhabited by gremlins. Just like motor vehicles.
I don't know - sometimes you just hit buttons by accident. The other night I flicked a bug off my monitor and hit SOMETHING - took me 30 minutes to find my screen again...

7. There are some shortcut keys... |
|
...you might have hit a combination by accident. Hitting "Ctrl" instead of "Shift" while typing, for example.
I do it all the time!

if you lose the toolbars just hit ALT. When you see 'view, history, tools, help' etc. across the top click view, then toolbars and then check the ones you want.

13. We had that, but didn't know that we could find toolbars under "view". |
|
Now we know.
Thank you! You were very helpful!

9. Firefox 4.0 does not have a BACK button, instead .... |
|
the ARROW pointing left, which is under the FILE (upper left corner of browser) when clicked on and held will show you the previous pages ...
So, left click and hold the <- which is just under the word FILE in the upper left corner.
I hope I explained that well enough.

15. There is an add on for that - Backward Forward History Dropdown |
|
I also missed having that for the new FireFox version and installed this one: Backward Forward History Dropdown https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforedrop/It works a little differently than the old one but it *works*.

I use that way more than the button.

26. Pretty much. Though if you right click in the chrome, you have various other options, depending |
|
on where you clicked: one such option includes customizing the toolbar
