I'm on a killing spree! Don't try and stop me! |
|
I was at the kitchen sink yesterday when I spotted something out of the corner of my eye. A mouse had started coming out from under our stove and did a quick retreat. So I've been setting traps under our kitchen sink. I've bagged one so far but I suspect there are many more. Lots of mouse turds under the sink.

1. Nice that you're proud of it. |
|
You could get have-a-heart traps and release them in the woods.

2. yeah and fool yourself into thinking you are doing a good thing |
|
while condemning them to essentially the same fate, only slower and probably more painful

3. I used to catch them and take them outside |
|
And they'd come right back in.

6. setting house mice "free" |
|
in unfamiliar territory will most likely result in their injury or death, likely by predators or fighting the local residents for territory, and if food sources are scarce then by starvation
and if, as I have seen advocated before, one hauls them out to some rural area there is a good chance they will become a problem for somebody else! nice
snap traps are effective and permanent
one should seal buildings and try to prevent entry of course but a fast kill of rodent pests in the house is not a moral failing

4. Get one of them there clicky things at Home Depot. They work! |
|
But don't stay at home when you have it on. Drives folks crazy too.
But if this mouse says, "Here I come to save the day!" he'll have the situation well in hand.

7. I am an animal rights advocate, but when the mice and rats |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-11-11 02:13 PM by RebelOne
invade my house (which they have), they get treated to rat and mouse poison. They chew everything up including makeup in plastic containers, boxes in the pantry and anything else they can chew through. They also leave turds in the pots and pans on my kitchen shelves. I do not like to kill anything, but there is a limit when it comes to household pests, especially roaches. But I have solved the problem. A few years ago, I bought a couple of those plug-in pest repellents and have not had a problem since. Even the ants have disappeared, and I had a huge problem with them. I could not leave one crumb of food in the kitchen, otherwise it was swarming with ants.

8. I too go out of my way to avoid killing anything. |
|
I even try to shoo flies out the window rather that use a fly swatter on the. But mice and rats are where I draw the line. I used one of those stick pads once, but after I caught one I though, "Now What? Hit him with a baseball bat?" The thing was glued to the pad!
