Video games. Lovem em' or hate em'?
I love em'. Video games are the single best time waster ever. I own all my old systems from years ago and can still shoot with a NES Zapper then anyone else on DU ever could:)

3. Can't say I "hate" them, but I do ignore them.
The only video game I have ever contemplated buying is The Wild Divine :)

Although if you consider things like pinball, solitaire and jigsaw as "video games" then I do have a few of those. The jigsaw game is great because you can set the number of pieces, the shapes and use your own images.

As far as "time-wasting" goes, I have found that Photoshop and Corel Painter to be far better at that "task" ;)

4. I love them

Currently on the PS3 now and don't plan on getting a new system for a long time. I don't get a lot of games, just a few that I can mess around on. My favorite game right now is Just Cause 2. It's a "sandbox" game that takes place on a massive tropical island. You can spend an hour flying around in a prop plane, climbing a mountain, or waging a guerrilla war against the dictatorial army.

5. Gotta give that one another shot
I rented through Gamefly and during the opening mission the system overheated(I think) and shut off on its own. I thought it was the game so I sent it back but then I saw that every game was having the same problems until it got progressively worse to the point the system won't even start a game.

I got a PS3 now and still playing MLB 11:The Show so at this point I probably won't be playing another game unless I buy "The Show"(currently renting) or buy a game such as Just Cause 2.

8. I'm also doing FIFA 10's version of Road to the Show as well
Just Cause 2 is great because after you're basically forced to do the first couple "Official" missions, you can do whatever you want. I've had it for a year doing nothing but joking around or doing the side faction missions to get easy money. I finally sucked it up and finished the official storyline over a couple hours last week. Now it's on "mercenary mode" which is bascially "do whatever the fuck you want" mode.

6. There are two games that I love to play, otherwise I am all thumbs
(anything more than the Atari red button/joystick combo confuses me). I love playing Crash Bandicoot and Mario Party 8. That's about it though.

11. Generally, they increase my stress level.
Shoot him before he shoots YOU! GET HIM!!! GET HIM!!!!
I get enough stress from other sources ;)

If there is no time constraint to it (not real time) then I can enjoy them peacefully.

12. Love'm
although at the moment I'm really hating the Galactus stage on Marvel Ultimate Alliance I, on PS3...damn motion controller is a HUGE PITA on this part.

I'm also currently playing Batman Arkham Island, game is awesome, even on multiple play through's...

And for the first time ever, I pre-ordered a game, Batman Arkham City, game looks smoking sweet...also the comic book series they have between the end of the first game, til the new release in Oct is effing sweet.

I watched the E-3 spot on the Arkham City game, and it looks amazing, I loved the aspect that you can go through the whole game without touching the ground, Batham has a few new moves, where he can use momentum/cape to keep gliding through the city.

14. Like 'em o.k.? Is that an option?
I'm 41 so I've had almost everything from Coleco(?) Telstar arcade (this triangular shaped system that had a steering wheel, a gun, and a pong dial section) up to a wii. Never got into X Box or the more recent Playstations (I had the first 2 versions of the PS).

I just don't have the attention span for longer RPG's or first person shooters. I like one and done games that I can play, enjoy, and then put away without having to pick up again at a certain point.

The last games I got obsessed with were the Tony Hawk Pro Skaters.

15. Red Dead Redemption is a blast - like GTA in the Old Time West.
This is one of those "Do whatever you want to do games" and go wherever you want to go from moment one.
First time I played, I got on my horse and just roamed around for a few hours shooting varmints and exploring shit.
The horses could be a bit smarter however.
I shot a coyote and jumped off to skin it and bag it and when I did, my horse roamed away and walked off the side of a cliff.
Left me in the middle on nowhere where I got attacked and killed by a bear.

17. Elder Scrolls is an open landscape - far more fun with the awesome new graphics
I bought myself a 32" Toshiba HD LCD tv and a ps3 + the surround sound system - just for the blu-ray and gaming.

It kicks ass - people are amazed at the new games - they look like you are in the movies, the detail is incredible....and most of it interactive environments.

16. MAME has allowed me a second adolescenthood.
Retro games are the only ones I play. The stuff my son plays on x-Box . . . just a whole lotta walking and shooting and not really much of a point to me. Oh well, at least I know where he's at.

30. My laptop won't handle it, sadly.
Adding hexes to Civ is the best idea yet, so I'm dying to try it.

I play a ton of wargames (with those lovely stacks!), and just mainly strategy games in general. I have the odd action or sports game, but not many.

27. Love 'em, especially role-playing games.
People think of video games as things to rot your brain, but many of them depict richly detailed, involving worlds with interesting characters and stories. It can be a rewarding experience.

Plus, being disabled, they keep me from going nuts. :)

and you have to remember that I was well into my twenties when PONG came out, so I've seen them all, pretty much.
