Harry 7B ***Some spoilers!!!!***
Excellent, with 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

My friend Steve was able to follow it even without reading the books, while I was mostly glad that some of the biggest moments in the books were left intact.

I was disappointed that they didn't do a super quick round-up of 7A, because frankly, I can't remember a lot of the first part (7A), but of course I remember the book itself.

I was glad that Neville got his moment in the sun, which was excellent--it increased the power of Trelawney's original prediction--both sons "born at the end of July" were instrumental in defeating Voldy.

I felt cheated by the more narrow focus of the battles at Hogwarts, but was happy that Molly Weasely got to kill off Bellatrix--very gratifying. :)

Casting held two major triumphs in my eyes--the actor cast as Aberforth, for one--I kept thinking it was Michael Gambon portraying both Albus and Aberforth, but the actor listed was not Gambon--of course, it could have been Gambon under an assumed name, but I'm not sure. The other casting wonder was the child who played Hugo, Ron and Hermione's son in the epilogue--he looked so much like Rupert when he was about 11 that I have to wonder if he is related to Rupert somehow.

I loved the dishevelled look of Jason Isaacs as Malfoy, and was glad to see they made the decision to walk away from the fight--a sign that perhaps their alliance to Voldy was completely gone--a more definitive close to the Malfoy involvement. (Yeah, I know there was some of this in 7A, but it was far more apparent in this, as it was more pronounced in the 2nd half of the book).

Well, that's about it from me right now--there were some humorous moments as well that break up the tension, something that mostly fills the whole film from beginning to end.

Enjoy your thoughts!
