Anybody gone on a Mediterranean cruise before?
We saw some pretty good deals for cruises in the Mediterranean and were thinking about it. We saw one that went from Rome to Egypt, Turkey & Greece (and back to Rome) that my wife liked. Since it's our 10th anniversary this year, we'd like to do something memorable.

1. Take her camping deep in a national forest and (CENSORED) (CENSORED) (CENSORED) and (CENSORED).
That's what my wife and I did for our honeymoon in 1987 and we're still (CENSORED) (CENSORED) (CENSORED) and (CENSORED)ing.

4. Yeah, but then you have to at least ATTEMPT to be quiet. In the forest, only the bears can hear you

Besides, there are trees, creeks, and other fun places to (CENSORED).

3. Been on two
The first was in 2008 to Athens, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Santorini, Mykonos, and Cyprus. I went on another a few weeks ago to Barcelona, Florence, Rome, Naples, and Majorca.

Personally, I love cruises. I like not having to unpack a bunch of times and the ease of the whole vacation. For me, it's a good way to get a taste of a country so I know where I would like to spend more time in the future. If you go on all-day excursion like I always do, then the trip isn't very relaxing. You also don't have the time in any place to really experience the culture. How much you and your wife will enjoy it really depends on the style of vacation you enjoy. (Go and have a great time!!)

5. I did it in April on the NCL Jade from Barcelona
First stop was Civitavecchia (Rome), then on to Piraeus (Athens), and Izmir (Ephesus), Turkey. After that, our 2 days in Alexandria, Egypt, were exchanged for 2 days in Istanbul, Turkey (very worthy substitution.. if you go, don't forget the hammam - Turkish bath), then Malta, and then back to Barcelona. It was 12 days of heaven. We made some great friends. Definitely recommended.

6. Sounds similar to the one my wife found
The one we're looking at is Rome/Civitavecchia, then goes to Olympia and Athens in Greece, Izmir/Ephesus and 2 days in Cairo before heading back to Rome.

It was also the NCL Jade. How was the ship?

7. Took the overnight ferries.
Between the Greek islands and Greece and Haifa. Slept up on deck with all the other backpackers. Best way to go.
