spent almost a year, 20? years ago, planning trip around France w family, then little girls. Fortunately took time memorialiazing it in photos, so have nice album. That may have been trip that began via Reykjavik, have neat photo out of airport cafe window.
Have a great time!

Oh, you know they do that for the tourists!
Yeah, right......NOT!
I believe there was a little eruption, but it's over now...I think.
I'd love to see one!

18. Just as I suspected! Have a great trip and bring back some good stories for us. |
|
BTW, I believe Hawaii has tamed their volcanoes to give nice, peaceful lava flows in the National Park there year around. Still, not interested in getting too close, but I'm sure they do tours. Be careful and enjoy your sightseeing.

It's truly nothing personal (I'm thinking about getting a shirt that says this lol). Would love to meet you, but that means leaving my lair. Just thinking about it makes me anxious, seriously.

We're not renting a car, though.
We've visited there before, and the drivers seem rather aggressive!
We still expect to have a great time...

But my younger daughter has told me stories of Cairo that make Massachusetts seem like San Diego.
Once I was stopped at a red light in the right lane in Boston traffic when the driver in the car to my left was frantically gesturing to me. I rolled down my window. He said he was in the wrong lane, and would I be willing to let him cut in front of me to turn right when the light changed. I said go ahead, and remarked that if he asked first, he had to be from out of town. He said he was from Michigan, and that he indeed had found driving in Boston to be a frightening experience.

I'm also from Michigan, although I've lived in Boston for more than 20 years. My first few adventures behind the wheel were indeed terrifying, but now I enjoy it for the sport of it all! I don't own a car anymore, although I rent frequently and also do Zipcar.

25. One doesn't need a car to see Cambridge |
|
The Red Line goes to most sightseeing parts of town, and even the Green Line goes to East Cambridge.
I second the recommend for the North End and will add that with the exception of cannolis, Hanover St. should be avoided for food.

And we have used the Red Line when we've visited in the past.
This time, however, we are using Boston to recover from the first leg of our trip, and to get ready for more jet lag on the way to Iceland...
We only have the one full day there (Saturday) so we expect to stay in our hotel and visit with whoever shows up!

Another disadvantage of living in flyover country, AKA Kentucky.
Have a great time floating nude in those mineral baths!
