I just watched "Gainsbourg: Vie Heroique"

Overall, not a bad movie. Although it cover's his long lost weekend, it ends before he went on to express his wish to "FACK WHITNEY HOOSTON..." and before he went postal on that poor French Erotic Actress - it is a good movie.

The best part of the movie, is how they make "Gainsbarre," his dark alter ego, a weird puppet-like character - it is that dip into surrealism that really puts this movie in the true context where it should be analyzed. Considering how few biopics run with the surreal angle of the subject (Toddy Haynes "I'm Not Here" is the only one I can think of) this movie is in a class by its own.

Check it out if you want to see something that is both truly French and truly Agréable.
