I am in mad "like" with Eddie Izzard (pic heavy)
I took my friend (her birthday  ) and my daughter to see him last night at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. I haven't laughed that hard in I don't know how long! It felt good. :7

It was a beautiful night - clear skies and we only needed a sweater. We also lucked out on our seats - holy crap... :wow:

Some of his stuff was taken from older shows but modified for this tour (sharks, giraffes, Darth Vader, God & Noah, historical references) but he had some spot on jokes/commentary about the News of the World scandal, Sarah Palin, conservatives and he seemed to assume that most of us were liberals/progressives like himself (more cheers than not) and educated, especially with technology. I think what my friend and I were most impressed with was his ability to take something simple (these birds -swallows - kept flying by people and himself) and run with it for a few minutes and also integrate it into his set for the rest of the night.

MAD "like"!

A few pics - for anyone that may care.

An atheist praying? No.

Noah trying to convince God that a speed boat would be better than an arc. Much better for the pictures in the holy biblEE.

3. He's a freaking genius! Has an incredible store of knowledge in his head, and funny as hell.
Saw him a few years ago on his "History of Everything" tour (or whatever it was called). Laughed my ass off all night.

Love him!

5. I agree
and what is so funny is that he says that he just gets his information fron the History channel or Wikipedia however not many people can make that stuff comical.

6. I used to have such a crush on him
I love his jacket there. You had great seats!

We saw him once in Philadelphia and once in DC, it's been years since then tho.
Maybe we'll see him again if he comes here, if we haven't missed it already.

7. no blushing needed
there are many women & men who feel the same. ;)

The seats were unexpected as I got them from a friend. Did you see him this decade or back in the 90s (then I will be jealous)?

9. not the 90's, but that would have been mega-cool!
I think his dvd that I first went crazy for was from the 90's. Our shows were like '05 and '06.. or '06 and '07?

Maybe we'll see him again some time, I hope!! Your pictures are great, they remind meeee :loveya: :loveya:

11. What a great birthday present!
For everyone!

'nuther Eddie fan here :hi:
Yeah, one day I'll pay attention to who's coming to town and so forth. I just hate paying exorbitant prices from the "legal" ticket-scalper companies here...

such as all the Star Wars movies ;)

It'd be like MST:3K with an English accent :P

18. Yeah, it's too bad they replaced him.
The third movie was still the best of the three, but could have been that much better with Eddie :D

21. A show on Showtime
about a woman with multiple personalities. It's dark comedy.

He plays her psychology professor and does a damn fine job of it.
