Anyone acting as "care staff" for a fat cat?
I have 3 adult cats and one kitten. Tiger is the only cat I have that over eats even though I don't leave food out. He will start eating his food, then before he's done he slyly moves over to another cats dish, barges in, eats their food, then goes back to eating his own. My kitten needs to eat 4 times a day and I can't alway watch Tiger. I live in a loft so I only have one very large area. Tiger has had blood work done and he doesn't have any thyroid issues. If I try and cut his food back he makes my life miserable. Tiger is 20 lbs, and I don't want him to get arthritis, or anyother ailment caused by being overweight.

1. He's a good size. I've got one about the same size and maintenance mostly means letting him sleep.
He's fifteen and I'm amazed he's still alive. He eats. He sleeps. He poops (and I suppose pees). That's about it. Oh, there ARE the belly rubs!!!! He's also the only cat I've ever known that will start purring if you so much as look at him - and he's LOUD!

3. Tiger will be 7 yrs in August
and I love him so much - I don't want him to die prematurely. I exercise him often through play.

4. Ah yes, play. Mine used to do that. It takes a substantial dose of catnip to get him going now.
Fortunately, we grow our own.

2. Two of my three cats are fat
around 15 pounds. But the other cat, although only 11 pounds, is the oldest cat and has the most forceful personality, and he is the dominant cat. Last month one of the fatties tried to push him away from the food dish, and he just smacked the other cat across the snout with his forepaw and then went on eating. He gets his share.

5. I have a 17lb cat but the vet says his weight is ok for now
He's very big boned. He's your typical male tom cat - big and bossy.

He's also my love muffin too :D

7. What a beautiful cat..
Tiger has a very stocky build, but still 3 lbs bigger then yours. Your cat wears his weight well.

9. He's just so adorable. He's wonderful to snuggle with
And the vet says his weight is ok although I shouldn't let him get any bigger.

I love it when he does his 'big sad eyes' look - kinda like Puss-n-boots from the Shrek movies. Abbott does it well and it just melts your heart.

6. I once knew a cat who was around 35 lbs.
Winston wasn't even that fat. He was just BIG. And oddly enough, he had an obsession with broccoli!

8. My Butch is a big fella
and tips the scales at 18-20 pounds. Only cat I have ever seen that could accurately be described as "barrel-chested." He's just a big cat.

12. Aw, Tiger's gorgeous!!
I love those big long-haired cats, but yeah, it's hard to get them to stop overeating. My Loki is about 20 lbs, and the vet would like him to cut down. He does kinda what your Tiger does - pushes the other cats out of the way to get at their food at nummy-time when he's done with his. He's not aggressive about it, he's a big old love-bug. When I see him do it and call him on it, he'll sort of skulk away, then wait for me to turn my back, and just go back to whatever dish he was working on. I'm giving him glucosamine-chondroitin (I think that's the spelling, I'm too lazy to look it up right now) for what I think is beginning arthritis - he's 10 years old and sometimes moves stiffly, and the vet suggested it.

13. Oh God, I thought you meant figuratively and I was going to post the story about how I escorted an
English lord from the airport to his hotel once.
