I mean I know there was a child involved who was found dead and I suspect it was her kid.

But the rest of it - call me clueless!

on edit:

I think negligence of some type was proven but, that was not one of the charges so, the jury had no choice, imo.

I wonder if a jury has ever asked a Judge if they could press different charges

2. Do I need to know anything else - other than Nancy Grace is the patron saint over all of this
I figured if there is a white kid involved Nancy can't be too far behind flaring her nostrils!

3. I had never heard of any of it until the verdict was made and the internet exploded.
I have very little interest in those kinds of things and was totally out of the loop, and I still am. And that's fine by me. :)

4. The quick and dirty:
The mom either killed the kid, or knew she was dead (by whatever means) and hid it.

The prosecution couldn't prove either to the jury's satisfaction.

The medical examiner could not come up with a specific cause of death.

The jury agonized over it, but did their duty by returning a verdict of 'not guilty' because they had reasonable doubts.

Bottom line: They think she either did it or had a hand in it or it may have even been 'accidental' and she was at least negligent, but the prosecution could not prove any of that beyond a reasonable doubt.

And...Anthony may have been safer if she had gone to jail.
She's a pariah and probably a marked woman for life.
No income, no job, parents estranged, and on the run for the rest of her life.

5. No, you're not...me too.
I actually had to google it to find out the basics.
This after I had turned to MSNBC one morning to get an update on real news.

6. I tried to avoid it but to no avail.

I have friends who talked about it continuously. It all seems to have died down now, though.

I'm just not interested in these "high-profile" cases. These people (the Anthonys) were unknowns until Nancy Grace exploited them every night for three years (or so it seemed).

7. Honest to Bejeebus, No
I have no idea WTF she is other than it involves a dead child.

I've been all pestered up with shit like wars, deficit cielings, Rupert Murdoch, health Care, my own bills, my home, family, critters, job, what's for cocktail hour, etc...

14. We all watched the news coverage when the tot was missing. Then the arrest.
Nothing more horrifying than losing a child and this mother just tried to go on with life. So I understand the anger. But I didn't like watching the trial on the news.I hate Monsters.
