U2 concert tonight at the New Meadowlands, and I'm going!
Haven't seen them in 19 years. Last time was ZooTV at Yankee stadium in 92, but 8 times before that. This is going to be the largest concert I've ever attended and the first time my wife has seen U2.

1. I hope you are closer to the stage than I was. When I saw Bono he was the size on an ant on stage.

2. We're in th 9th row, behind the stage a little to the right.
We figure it's 360, so we should be able to see fairly well.

4. Have fun!
We saw them on the Vertigo tour twice. We had GA for one show and Bono actually came and kneeled down in front of us while he sang. good times!

5. Give us a review. Letterman had them singing unplugged next to him the other night.

6. Have a great time! I saw them in May in Denver
and the show was spectacular! I'm sure it's only gotten tighter and better as they've been on tour. I'll look for a review tomorrow!

7. My daughter saw them in St Louis Sunday night.
She said he show was "epic" which is an excellent review from a 14 year old. They were in the SRO area next to the stage.

8. Ok, they still know how to put on a GREAT show. Tight band, great over the top
stage and the loudest I've ever seen U2 play.

Great set list I think playing at least one song from every album, even a short refrain from October 'Rejoice' which hardly anyone seemed to recognize.

But. The sound was off. First half Bono's voice and the Edge's guitar seems too low in the mix. Second half it was if them toyed with Bono's mic and he sounded kinda like Micky Mouse.

And for long time U2 fans (I had Boy and October on cassette as a teenager and saw them first in like 83) it's just not the same. I know, I know, things change. But back then the concerts were more intimate, the audience understood what the songs were about, and the songs were about something. When you have NJ meatheads in front and in back of you high fiving each other during Pride, it kinda makes you go, wtf? Do you know what this song is about? I remember walking out of the concert, all the way to the cars with the entire audience singing '40', it was an experience.

Yeah, I'm an old cranky bastard now. For me though, U2 was more than a stadium rock band and although the show was great, it just wasn't the same.

11. Yeah, their smaller shows were great
Their show at Red Rocks years ago, the "Under a Blood Red Sky" tour was fantastic. I first saw them open for some dude named Prince when he was starting off in purple lingerie during his Soft & Wet tour - way, way back when. That show had max 350 people in the audience.

Glad you had a good time and thanks for the report - it's hard not to like U2.

10. Excellent!
I've seen them 5 times, most recently in 2009 at the Georgia Dome. I love U2!
