3. that's a good way to remember it!
I was in preschool and the teacher turned on the t.v. for us to watch it. I don't remember it clearly except for how excited the adults were.

4. Tranquility Base factoid
(Spoken just after touchdown) Armstrong: "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." — Capcom Charles Duke: "Roger, Twan... (correcting himself) Tranquility. We copy you on the ground. You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again. Thanks a lot."

Armstrong appears to have created the name on his own. His use of "Tranquility Base" surprised NASA Mission Control personnel, who had not heard it before. During simulations, the crew always referred to itself as "Eagle" before and after landing. Unlike most names bestowed on lunar landmarks by Apollo astronauts, the International Astronomical Union officially recognizes the designation 'Tranquility Base'. It is listed on lunar maps as Statio Tranquillitatis, in order to fit with the Latin names that are ubiquitous on lunar maps.

Go to the Neil Armstrong Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio. It is fascinating. And my great uncle was the architect.

6. Two things from my childhood I'll never forget...
Sitting around a B&W tv at my grandparent's house in San Diego watching the lunar landing, and having my mom grab me by the shoulders in the middle of a bowling alley and look me straight in the eyes to tell me that our President had been shot in Dallas.

One of the saddest days in my life and one of the most thrilling.
