George Lucas found other ways to milk the Star Wars franchise...
At Comic-Con they announced a Blu-Ray collection.

It'll have deleted scenes added to the discs.

And they are working on a live-action Star Wars TV series.

I mean, ENOUGH!!! :eyes:

1. Plus the new version of the Star Tours ride at Disneyland opened recently.
I'm sure he got some sort of royalty off that.

3. "live-action Star Wars TV series"
I doubt very seriously that this will ever happen. The project was announced in 2005 Lucas and is currently on hold due to budgetary concerns.

4. So George Lucas is a bad guy, now?
You're telling me that Star Wars wasn't marketed to the hilt in the 70's and 80's?

Kenner action figures.

Videos and tapes.

The Star Wars Holiday Special.

Two Ewok flicks.

A Droids/Ewoks cartoon.

Star Tours.

5. It was inevitable
Everything else is being released on Blu-Ray. It was only a matter of time. And he did throw in some really good extras (deleted scenes that people have been waiting forever for).

He does seem to take his time with the stuff. I recall it took forever for the original trilogy to come out on DVD.

9. As a continuity buff
for the books, comics and games, I absolutely fear the live action series. The Clone Wars series is already taking some very big liberties with the books and I fear what the LA series will do.

I'm perfectly happy with the books, comics and games, thank you very much Mr. Lucas.

10. There is no canon except the two trilogies, and I"m not thrilled about the prequels
I will accept no books as canon until Splinter of the Mind's Eye is welcomed back into the fold!

11. After he revised the originals I lost all interest in ever seeing them again
Cute enough movies. Grateful for the advances in effects technology. The SW universe is so limited in imagination it is sad it has become the template for space fantasy SF.
