9. Oh, why do I feel like crying... |
|
this really isn't a huge surprise, with all of her proclivities and problems.
I just always loved her voice and her authentic struggles which came through.
Kind of like Janis Joplin.
Reality, not a performance, and I could never look away.
RIP.

11. the first Amy song i ever heard was Valerie |
|
And it's still my favorite.
She was an uncommonly brilliant singer. I wish I'd gotten to watch her grow old.

21. It's a helpless feeling watching people like this destroy themselves. |

Lindsey Lohan is another one. I hate seeing these people mocked, because I get the feeling there's no one in their circle that sees them as anything more than a dollar bill. You have to wonder if there's anyone who sees the human underneath.

I loved her sound soon as I heard her. And from then I wished someone would watch out for her, like keep her straight enough to at least grow old, while also making songs. This broke my heart some today, and my husband thought I was being sweet but silly .. like this was all that was coming to her.. But she was worth helping, keeping alive at least. She had a gift. She was a little gift.

29. She had so much talent |
|
I am more saddened by this than I thought I'd be. I always liked her music - I thought she kind of put into music some of my deepest feelings, like any good musician does, so this has really hit me. And watching her struggles through the years has just pained me, especially because I know how much she cared about her fans.
RIP Amy. You will be missed.

32. There's been a few threads on her and my heart's been really |
|
heavy regarding her passing. I loved her wonderful music on Back to Black which is when I first discovered her because everyone was talking about it. Sure enough, I adored her voice, her songs, and her style. I've kept up w/her all these years knowing (who could not) all about of her struggles w/substance issues. I knew that unless some kind of major shift occurred in her life that this would happen. I mean we all saw it happening before our very eyes and couldn't do anything - absolutely devastating. One fact I didn't realize is that she was 27 - wow. Another member of the 27 club. Since I'm into Astrology (although I don't know a whole lot), the planet Saturn causes people to go through major changes every 27 (sometimes 28 or 29) years (that could give some insight regarding the 27 club) RIP, Amy. I hope you have finally found peace.

36. The more I hear her music |
|
and really, I've been listening a lot today . . . the more I realize what is gone.
The songs yet unsung, is a truly sad thing. I place no judgment on her decisions - hell, I'm in no position to do so, and I really think that no one is - but I am just sad. Sad. She had a great voice and talent, and I'm deeply sorry to see that end.
