Understanding the meaning of big SPIDER!
Edited on Sun Jul-24-11 11:55 AM by AlienGirl

I met Clockspider last night at 2 am. He was hanging around the door saying "Sup?" and making Trollface at me. When he walked, he stomped audibly, the sound of eight marching hairy feet.

1. You're going to need a bigger wall.
Yes, that's big alright.

Looks fast too, and that's the creepy part.

It's a beauty though, and I hope you can capture it and let it go back outside.

That's probably the largest spider I've ever seen.

Inside, at least.

8. An exterminator once told me "You're never more than three feet away from a spider."
Glad I could help.

after meeting that.)

What kind of spider is it? Huntsman?

I was sitting in a chair in the living and calmly looked to my right and saw this about one foot away from my head.

Here let me fix this picture.

I don't think my feet touch the ground as I leaped from the chair to the hallway. It took a big damn hammer to kill it. It was before I installed, what I like to call "The catch and reach program." Unless I find you in my bathtub and I'm naked. Sorry buddy, but your leaving by the drain.

16. KILL IT WITH FIRE!
ugh... i have the shivers just looking at it.. i hate hate HATE spiders..

funnies aside, I pretty sure im phobic.. If I unexpectedly see one reflexes take over and I dart away and my arms flail around.. I whacked myself in the face pretty good once and left a bruise..
Just typing this im getting a tingling feeling over my skin like they are crawling on me..

And if I had seen something like that in -my- room? I know I would need a xanex or a bottle of wine

19. I crushed a big one last week.
It was outside on the driveway. I crushed it with the tip of my cane. It was very satisfying. I believe it was a Wolf Spider, very large and heavily built.

25. I leave most spiders alone.
They eat things that are worse.

When my kids were small I was very aggressive against the dangerous spiders, black widows for example, but I'm not so much any more. I still wouldn't have black widows in the house but I'll bet there are a few in my garage.

The large fast spiders like yours I'll capture and put outside because I don't like it when other people scream.

27. Me, too. I respect them; they serve a very useful purpose.
I don't like them on me - uncontrollable flailing - but I won't kill one in the house (unless it is a black widow or a brown recluse (not that I have any idea what a brown recluse looks like)) or outside.

They're also beautiful in their own way, and spider silk is freaking incredible.

I don't understand killing them just because they exist and look different. Kill all the spiders and we'd all be eaten alive by bugs.

29. It's a male spider. It will only come back inside
because it is searching frantically for a female. They act crazy looking for females. And they are more venomous than females.
