There is a new kitty in my house!!!!!
And he is an absolutely marvelous cat!!!! He is very adaptable and just checked the house out, then settled down. He is very vocal and talks a lot with his tail. He loves to be petted and has been following me around like a puppy, except that he is constantly wrapping himself around my leg. He found the toys that I had in a little basket on the floor and loved my fresh catnip. This is a great addition to my one-person family!

Check out how cute he is!

2. Welcome to your "forever" home Sammy......he is a rescue group cat
who came as a kitten, was adopted then, and after a year, they returned him because they had to move to an apartment (???)

Another family adopted him, but there were bad allergies in one of the kids and they regrettably had to also return him.

He will NOT be returned!!!!

came to us as a kitten. You're in for a lot of adventures together. :)

are the best. :loveya:

I am on my second rescue kitty - my dear Max passed a year ago at 16 (according to the vet) after five years with me - but my big boy Butch has been a fine feline roommate since last fall.

9. All kitties rock. But this one is very special. This was meant to be,
since I fell in love with him at the "cat house" and he was adopted so quickly that I didn't have time to make my decision. When it was time for another cat (over a month after losing Ashes), I called this rescue group and was discussing the temperment that I was hoping for---I said like Sammy who was already adopted. Two days later, the woman I spoke to called to tell me that he was being returned because of allergies. Destiny.

Now if he would just stop all this head rubbing so I can type!

I lost my kitty in April (he was 17) and since I go on the road for months at a time for work (I work for campaigns and was on the road when Tabby passed-- he was with my parents) I can't have another at this point in my life. It really makes me upset too.

I think I will be able to do it again now. I am so sorry that you lost your old kitty, and it is worse that you cannot have another one at this point. But all of us kitty people will give you those fixes that you need. I just hope that he does some really cute things that make it worth it to post.

That should provide you with hours of entertainment and some very funny pics.

I would also like to suggest one of my Tabby's favorite toys for you. Tabby LOVED the El Gato Muy Loco catnip cigar.

The cat is crazy. Love it. 100% organic, made in the USA. And not listed anyplace within 70 miles of me. I will have to ask my pet supply store about getting this.

I have usually made my own toys since most catnip toys have too many feathers/felt/eyes on them. I grow my own! I have some hanging to dry right now. He had it fresh and rolled all over it, rubbed on it, and now it is gone. LOL. Silly cat.

He is still a charmer!

I am so glad you are now a 2 person family! I think people who live alone should have a pet. It has been shown to lengthen your lifespan and make you feel needed and loved. And less lonesome.
And grats to Mr. Sammy on finding a new home. He is precious and it sounds like well loved by his new parent!

26. awwww... What a love. Aren't you the lucky one!
And Sammy, too.

It's RIGHT that you've found each other. Funny how that works.

When we were at the shelter being picked by Louie on Friday, a guy came in just as we were leaving. He was telling the volunteer that he was looking for a kitty.

We said, "Well, we got the best one, but good luck!"

And the volunteer winked at us, and then said to him, "Don't worry. The best one is waiting for you."

They know. They just know.

I sure hope that brown tabby-striped guy finds the right sucker(s) though. Having BEEN such a sucker, I can reassure some brave soul that even "difficult" cats can be JUST RIGHT for the right person. And he was a handsome young fella, indeed.

It was touch and go there, for awhile. I wanted to take ALL of them home.

Fortunately there were lots of volunteers there to dissuade me, as well as The World's Most Wonderful Human Being.

wistfully,
Bright

I am quite sure that you will be really happy with your baby. I didn't want a kitten either, never did, but I also ended up with one at one time and I never regretted that I succombed to him.

Sammy is perfect for me. Babba-louie is perfect for you. And isn't that woman at the shelter right---the best one IS waiting for that guy.

53. Oh, a girl kitty to match him! What fun that would be!
I always go with adult cats since they are harder to place than kittens. I will love on someone else's babies. But he is still young, just 1-1/2 years old. My last two cats were much older and I had too short of a time with them----and much money and heartache. So I did go with a young adult this time.

two different residences so that is all I can handle for now. Yeah.Ginger cats rock. And did you know that it is really rare for ginger cats to be female? A few vets have told me that over the years.

This is my second ginger cat (the first one was named Ginger, of course), and he was a boy too. But he was a long hair. I am always interested in trying to find the exceptions to the rule, so I will be looking at all the orange cats I see from now on.

He had to check everything out, including walking into a cupboard when the vet opened it.

He got a 100% healthy bill of health. Ear mites, nope. Worms, nope. Heart, great. Feline leukemia and whatever else goes with that test, nope. All is well.

he was laying on a chair with the legs stretched out off the cushion, and I had this weird thought that it looked like a fawn was there, with legs just too long and thin. Funny. I could never have gotten to the camera though, as soon as I move, he is there to follow me. Oh well.

74. Sammy is quite handsome also
They both have those beautiful olive-colored eyes.

Sammy looks like a mellow, happy kitty. Congratulations!

76. Congratulations to both you and Sammy.
Life would be really empty without my cats. I have 3 and one kitten.
