7. Did you know they named them the opposite to fool people?
Iceland is green and Greenland is icy. Anyway, are you having a good time, Peggy?

8. I did know that, my dear 6000eliot!
And yes, we are having a good time.

Tomorrow it'll really take off as we go out sightseeing.

And hopefully my jet lag will disappear for good!

4. We haven't been out of the hotel...
Too much jet lag, and not much energy today.

Tomorrow we get really get underway, and then I think the food will be great.

6. LOL! I am on another world!
It sure feels like it...

We're just under the arctic circle.

The sun didn't behave the way I'm used to...

16. Catch you a litle bit of aurora, too. Dont go to sleep yet. Friends in Norway sent me pix of...
The aurora that you can see right above downtown. You probably won't get a better chance. Unless you guys take a cruise up to AK.
Oh, is it warm or cool there?

P. S. Thanks for the edit with the cool pic. Have a nice sleep.

:boring:

Nah, I'm not the clever one! The people running the tour company are...

I have to admit that we do like to see cooler climates when it's hot at home!

We are having a ball, and you KNOW there will be more pictures!

11. How cool
But how long will it "stay" down?

My best friend in HS went to Europe between Jr and Sr years to visit her sister and her AF husband
She went over on Icelandic and had a stop over in Reykjavik
Then she went on to Luxembourg which was Icelandic's hub on the continent
AF bil took 30 days leave and they all (plus sis's two kids) roamed around Europe

I got to roam around Texas that summer visiting various old biddies
I was envious

14. My dear TheCentepedeShoes!
Let me see...I think the days are about 19 hours long, so that means the sun will be back up in about 5 hours!

I think your best friend in HS had one hell of a trip! Lucky her...I hope you get to do something like that some sweet day too...

17. hey CalPeggy - I haven't been around much lately - didn't know you were going to Iceland! How fun!
Are you spending most of your holiday there, or where else are you going?

Anyway, have a fantastic time, and I look forward to more photos! :hi:

(PS - Helsinki, if you're going there, is one of my favorite cities --- I haven't been there in almost 4 years, and I miss it).
