Anyone else watching Design Star?
Then there were nine.

Cathy is looking like the "villain" of the show. She doesn't play well with others, her white box was boring, her design portfolio is boring, and if I hear her say "*I* have a global perspective" one more time I'm going to... well, probably make retching noises. Like I did when she said it on tonight's show.

Leslie seems like a decent designer. I like the stuff from her design portfolio. She also outed herself tonight. No Texan cheerleader stereotype she. However, I don't know if HGTV needs another blonde Amazon who does simple, elegant, opulent designs.

I loved Karl's white box last week, but I guess the judges didn't think he incorporated enough stuff from the store. He brought it in the first week with the tree shapes in the bonus room. He's pleasant to watch as a host, but his portfolio doesn't stand out a lot for me.

Kevin... I'm underwhelmed. His portfolio is like midcentury clutter. The orange room was horrible, his white box with the butcher paper wasn't all that, and the shelf-thing this week could have been more functional.

Bret's not making an impression on me at all. I thought the big "relax" sign was stupid.

Meg's white box was fugly, but both times she's done a room she's been paired with Tyler and both times their room has turned out tasteful and nice. I like her portfolio, but the sound of her voice bothers me.

Tyler should have won last week for the chair. He's worked with Meg on both of the team challenges, but I'd rather watch his show. I like his designs, and he's got good energy.

Mark has done two woodcrafting projects and that airplane white box. They punished Karl for relying too much on paint, and I think Mark should have been penalized too. He's got a lot of very high-end projects in his portfolio, and I don't know if this show is the best space for highlighting that.

Kellie's aesthetic seems similar to Sarah's and Emily's. I'd like a designer who doesn't do the trendy "white room with a white midcentury couch with a white deer head punctuated by one lime green pillow, one pink pillow, and one aqua pillow" thing.

So far I like Tyler the best.

Tyler should have won last week, but I was more impressed with his unique wall design. Both that design & the unique idea for the chair were amazing.

Karl's impressive; I've liked everything he's done so far.

Leslie has great ideas. I thought she was in trouble when she spilled the black paint on the new rug, but she was able to get it back to spotless condition. That was impressive.

I agree with you about Bret's "relax" sign last week!

Don't you love this show? If only they would show the step-by-step process when they make the cool stuff...

Edited because I got Leslie mixed up with Cathy. Cathy's manipulating the guys this week wasn't impressive.

2. Was Meg the one who dumped the paint down her breasts?
Didn't she do a tip this week about how to keep from making a mess when you paint?

4. I can't keep the names straight.
Meg is the redhead? The woman with brown hair is the one who dumped the paint on her boobies.

6. Cathy is the new Omarosa. BeardBoy would be handsome clean-shaven. Crumpled paper on walls?!
I have to say, though, I liked Cathy's use of spices as "floor mosaics."

But the Airplane room was AWESOME.

I want Stupid Girl with Fallen Table to leave ASAP! Crappy taste and worse voice!
