Are collard greens good for you?
Sure there's a little oil and salt, but on the whole, aren't they good for you?

Unless you cook them with lots of bacon or "pot liquor".

3. Not that bad in a smoothie, either. Not that good, but not so bad you can't drink it.
I liked them with baked sweet potatoes, yellow cornbread and blackeyed peas. But that's just me. It takes a lot of flavor to match up to collards. They're high in minerals.

7. No, that's the cooked meal, not the raw one... It's the old New Year's Day superstition.

13. I prefer Turnip Greens
I grew up eating them boiled with a bit of bacon and a dash of salt. My dad taught me to give my serving a couple of splashes of Bruce's Tobasco Peppers in Vinegar:

Yummo!

At home, I just boil them a bit then add a pat of butter and a couple shakes of lemon pepper.
