I just Watched Amelie again.... |
|
I forgot how achingly haunting the undercurrent of movie was but how whimsical it all turned out to be...

It was strange from my American pov, but I found it absolutely delightful. Loved every minute of it.

I feel like it's one of those movies that changes your perspective and makes one a better person somehow. I don't know, lol. I just loved the movie so much.

7. That film is completely wonderful. |
|
From the strange personalities, the cinematography, the plot, the acting, down to the superbly fitting music. I'd say aside from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, it is my favorite film.
I love the director Jenunet's other films as well, they all have sort of the same formula, but Amelie tops them all. If you have a chance, check out his other films such as Delicatessen, MicMacs, and A Very Long Engagement. I haven't seen "City of Lost Children" yet, but I hear that is wonderful as well.

9. City of Lost Children is amazing. |
|
This is one of the reasons why I liked "Ameile" even though it seriously isn't the type of movie, story-wise, that I'm interested in seeing.
