Who likes sun tea?
Decades ago, I had a friend who was enthusiastic because she could make it in her dorm room without a hot plate. It being so hot out, I thought I'd try it again, because I can make it without adding heat or humidity to my place

1. I've been living on it.
Just poured myself a nice cold glass after coming in from working in the garden. Aahhhh.

2. How long do you let it steep? I haven't tried this for years

3. Depends on how strong you like it.
I just put my sun tea jar out in a sunny spot and check it after a few hours. If it looks dark enough for my taste it's "done." 4-5 hours is usually enough.

4. Sun tea can harbor
dangerous bacteria.

Snopes says it's true:

5. I'm doomed, then.
I drink it by the gallon every summer. I suppose if you leave it out too long it could get cooties, but so far, so good...

I have even made a lot of it myself. I suppose it would be possible if you used bad water or an unclean bottle.

You can even use the sun to purify water. http://www.ehow.com/how_6371825_purify-water-using-natural-resources.html

According to the above link on a sunny day water will be purified in six hours, about the right amount of time to make sun tea.

This link http://www.ehow.com/how_4785840_purify-water-sun.html even claims the process will destroy Cholera and typhoid.

edit: for clarification

7. Grew up on it and still use the same exact glass jar my mom did.
She would set it out on the back porch and it didn't take long to be ready...yummy stuff!
