1. I quoted him regularly here at DU for a while, on the stand-Clausewitz-on-his-head theory
that "Politics is war conducted by other means" -- so that one should think about territory and balance-of-forces and morale and other such issues

My view did not win widespread approval

3. "Thus those skilled in war subdue the enemy's army without battle .... They conquer by strategy."

I think of this often when I think of Obama. I hope I'm on the mark.

This is probably too serious for the lounge, but oh well. ;)

5. that's a badass sculpture
And I like the badass quotes. It's true, morale is important. Always remember, too, that morale on the republican side is very bad, worse than ours I think!

8. I dowloaded "Art of War" cause it was free @ the app store
Normally, I dig non-fiction and Asian philosophy but so far, this book reminds me of that character, "The Sphynx" in Mystery Men. Maybe it's because I've pretty much read virtually the same set of platitudes in the I Ching. Just the same, it's not keeping my interest so I'm gonna move on to something else.

10. Not George Bush or his cronies.
Unless they were looking at things from the corporate-fascist point of view with the US as another adversary. Hmmmmmmm?
