Enthusiasts of The Hobbit movie, check this out:

It's an artist's depiction of Erebor, The Lonely Mountain. I lifted the image off of Wikipedia; it's not artwork from Weta Digital, or anything.

Anyway, I was struck by the photographic realism of the picture. Not to mention, the breathtaking beauty of the image itself. It helps to make the setting of The Hobbit a little more real for me.

Can't wait for the release next year...

2. Well, that tears it.
Now I'll have to dig out the LTOR DVDs and watch 'em again.

3. I watch all three films two or three times a year.
Mostly because I need long, interesting things to watch while I'm working out. I even watch the special production features over and over.

I'm a Tolkien geek to the bone... B-)

6. Move to L.A. They've got lots of it.
:P

I've pronounced the name "SMOG", all my life. But apparently the correct pronunciation is "Smowg."

7. In the animated film...
The one from Rankin-Bass, they pronounced it "smog."

Not sure here myself.

The "Encyclopedia of Arda" pronouces it "smowg."

8. I hear rumors he's going to be voiced by Leonard Nimoy

and his look will be based on John Howe's Smaug the Golden.
