It's just one of those nights for me, I have so much on my mind that it kept me awake. So I decided to log on and browse a couple minutes, those couple minutes turned into a couple hours. The thing is I have stuff to do early tomorrow and if I go to sleep now I'll probaly oversleep. Oh well I guess.

can't sleep and if I go to sleep now, I'll oversleep. Actually, this is an almost nightly occurrence for me.

I'm awake, and my alarm is set for 15 minutes from now. It looks like I won't be sleeping at all.

I'm wide awake. Not even sleepy. Plus I'm hungry. Anyone have anything good to eat?

i have no regular sleeping pattern. i'm lucky if i get 3 hours a night. well, i fall asleep, then i'm waked two hours later by something or other. it could be a fly on the wall, it could be a dripping spigot, or it could be my room mate's elegant rave soundtracks. then i can only resume sleeping around the time when the birds outside begin chirping. and at that point i have THINGS that need doing. so what are key symptoms of insomnia anyhow (other than chronic sleeplessness)

6. Sounds like me (except those 3 things, those kind of things don't wake me) |
|
But I have problems sleeping except when the sun rises! When the sun rises I have stuff to do.

8. Okay, my definition of insomnia |
|
Insomnia is the disruption of regular sleep paterns. Most "normal" people start to get drowsy at a particular time and fall asleep, where they spend anywhere from six to eight hours sleeping.
We insomniacs have a brain chemistry that seems to block that signal to the body, telling it to do to sleep. There are many reasons for this. Some are preventible (like drinking anything with caffeine a few hours before going to bed) while other times there's no explanation. You just can't fall asleep and you don't get drowsy.
There are a couple of kinds of insomnia: there's the kind where you have trouble falling asleep, and there's the kind where you have trouble staying asleep. Most of the time, when I go to bed, I get maybe five hours of sleep.
Sometimes I experience both types. See, right now I'll probaby be dozing off at 4:00, maybe earlier. I may not sleep at all. But when I do sleep, it'll probably be just a few hours. Which is fine with me, as long as I get a productive three hours of sleep. You know, the kind the involves dreaming.
I don't know what to expect tonight. Plus, as I mentioned before, I'm hungry, but creeping around this late, I'm sure to wake up someone.
