4. 4:30 here
I can come and go at work as I please, but I just took over a week off when my husband got back. By the time I decide to go to work, I will be dead tired.

8. Yo.
Hard-core unemployed.

Computer programmer.

Would you like fries with that?

Well, actually, I can't work those particular kinds of jobs because of some nasty medical issues that won't kill me, just keep me from retail and food service jobs. My last few attempts were with customer service jobs, and two of the five didn't hire me for the expressed reason that they were looking for women in their 20s, as they were easier to deal with and required less money.

Right now, it's okay, since my mother and grandmother have been having some more-serious medical issues. But in general, it's a stone drag.

Eh, I'll find something remunerative some day, probably sooner than later. But Life Under Bush sucks.

11. So far...
I am either completely unqualified or as they love to say, "overqualified."

One actually said to me, I'd love to hire you but you'll just leave for a better job.

I have no clue where next months's rent is coming from...

Heh.

12. The Old Familiar Refrain
I heard them both, several times; with customer service work, too.

As for rent, it was one year ago this month that I got evicted. Fortunately, I was able to move back in with my family -- an aunt who had been living with them died suddenly right before I was due to move out. Some fortune, eh?

Conservatives depend on these kinds of little disasters to keep their private little world of "Free" Enterprise going. But too many people are getting too hip to the lie.

7. Night Owls Unite?
As long as we're up all nite, let's do something useful. I'm a
copy writer, I live in the South, and I am full of ideas.

10. One word. Nyquil.
It isn't good to take it all the time, but for occasional sleeplessness it's available almost everywhere. (I use the Walgreen's imitation, the same thing but cheaper.)

Disadvantage: it has one heck of a hangover. Unless you plan to sleep eight to ten hours, it can make your whole day drag.

Mind you, I was sleepless for a long time, and a hospital study told me I have sleep apnea. I now sleep with a CPAP machine and a mask strapped to my face, blowing air up through my nose. Sounds awkward, but not only do I sleep beautifully most of the time, but my waking hours are more creative and fruitful.

9. I keep expecting to hear even more terrible news on the wires.
At least it's good to know I'm not the only one up.
