My kitties have been busy |
|
I've been finding dismembered crickets here and there lately. The crickets come into the cellar (not sure how) this time of year, but they have no chance against my kitties. Especially Oscar. I've seen him carrying them up on to the main floor in his teeth and then tearing them to pieces.
Do any of you have kitties who are adept at hunting and killing things that are not normally thought of as a cat's prey like mice and birds?

1. We have one that makes a small effort |
|
to get the once or twice a year water bug that somehow comes into the apartment. The other two can't be bothered. Years ago we had a cat Alice, may she rest in peace and a nice sunny spot, that waited by a wall for two days when we could hear something scratching behind it. Whatever it was never made it in or wised up and went to another floor. Intruders had to be suicidal to enter this apartment, she was a good cat.

2. One of my cats will try to kill the occasional odd housefly, but the other two could not care less. |

A mouse could walk across their nose and they wouldn't lift a paw to do anything about it. Jagoffs.

3. Mine think crickets are the very best toy of all. |

They don't usually kill them but they do play wth them. For that matter they do the same with mice and spiders.

so things get interesting sometimes. right now, however, 2 of them are sacked out on the bed, doing what they do best. which is NOTHING.
But woe to the fly or waterbug that gets in the house. I even found small, tiny snakes, on more than one occasion, that they had killed.
Two of them just play, but our grey tabby will make dinner out of whatever she finds.
Don't know how that stuff gets in the house???
The grey one likes to sit at the window at night and watch the geckos that hang out on the screen trying to catch bugs.
One time a bird got in the house, and I was so afraid that they would GET IT before I could get it out. Killers, they are. Don't let the cuteness fool you.
