Not in my world.

4. Man I say groovy all the time.
But the kids at my workplace do look at me like I'm some kind of alien.

That may not be ENTIRELY because of my use of groovy. Could also be the bald spot plus pony-tail plus handlebar mustache plus the death metal music most commonly coming from my office.

6. On rare occasion I slip up and say "Far out!"
But then I'm a time traveller.

8. We're all time travelers
flying into the future at the velocity of one second per second. Unless you are moving, of course.

9. I *always* use out-of-date slang - for effect.
Usually: 'boss' which I first heard in 1965 when I was in the 4th grade.

Also: 'I'm hip'.

10. I use groovy all the time
Outdated, but so am I. Besides, it's a nearly perfect word.

11. Interesting idea...
Sometimes I use it for fun with my teenager. She and her friends get a kick out of it and sometimes co-opt it themselves.
