***NEW FOOD PORN*** 9 BRAND-NEW PICS from today's photo shoot @ the Mexican Restaurant
This is the FIRST Mexican restaurant, NOT the one where I had the issue of the no-show and they later had the issue of the broken fridge & freezer.

And YES, once again...I have the BEST job in the WORLD.

1. Where's my enchilada dinner?
Thanks to you, I'm going to have to put some clothes on and go to the local Mexican restaurant!

The photos are mouth-watering. I can only imagine how the food is.

:woohoo:

2. I'll take one enchilada platter and an order of flan, please. TIA!
Photowise, I'd reconsider the background on the giant margarita (if you want me to drink that one up so you can try again, I'd be happy to help...)

Nice work!

5. I hear ya...
...we actually did take a second shot, because the table I was using was in front of the kitchen door (not visible in the other shots).

My initial reaction, after getting home and looking at the photo, is that it doesn't begin to express how HUGE this thing actually is. It's a GOBLET.

40. I did a re-shoot today...
...I asked the waitress what she though of the photo and she mentioned the plant in the background and I said "Yes, I moved it there, because it lets you see the shape of the glass, rather than having it melt into the back wall." After she considered it in that regard, she said "Oh...OK."

:-)

Anyone who's been to a Mexican restaurant knows the approximate size of the chips and salsa, so now the glass looks more like what it is and less like a little baby brandy snifter sitting on a big lonesome table. Thanks for the suggestion. And yes, you can have the one from yesterday.

All of it looks so good. If I didn't have everything for dinner, I would be going up the street for take-out.

9. I told the owner "this pic is gonna be the superstar."
I spoke with this gentleman, as well as the owner of the other Mexican restaurant that I'm working for, about the recent issue with Chipotle and their pinto beans (cooked with bacon).

So on both of the Websites I am making notations that the "vegetarian" dishes are "100% vegetarian, and not prepared with any animal products."

I spoke with the owner of the other restaurant earlier today and asked "Even your refried beans aren't cooked with lard?"

He said "We don't use lard for ANYTHING. We primarily use olive oil."

So STRICT "authentic Mexican food" enthusiasts might take issue with that, but I can tell you that from every other aspect, the food is the REAL DEAL.

10. The enclilada platter and flan
My favorites
Great pictures!!
I like the "drizzle" of sour cream over the enchiladas
And the chip in the beans to test the hotness? Meaning stove heat? Beans can burn

Fortunately, the photos pretty much capture exactly what I saw when they brought it from the kitchen.

Those look delicious, although I almost always get the cheese & onion enchiladas. But I do like a good crispy taco. Most of the time I bring my own salsa, because mine is usually better than theirs. :)

In Oklahoma, they always bring you the jalapeno relish (jalapenos, onions, carrots) and tortillas & salsa before you even order. Here in Atlanta, they don't. Another reason to bring my own salsa!

Don Pablos makes a mean nachos supreme, btw. Damn, you've made me hungry!

20. It's pretty powerful flan, that's for sure.
The owner brought out all of the platters and asked "What else do you need a photo of?" My immediate response was "Do you have flan?" He smiled and said "Yeah...WE HAVE FLAN."

25. As he brought each dish out from the kitchen, it was SO COOL...
...he placed them on the table in front of my camera and announced each one, and there was an unmistakable pride in his voice. It was like he was announcing nominees at the Academy Awards.

I really like this man and his restaurant...I am very happy I approached him, and even happier that he became my client. The place is clean as a whistle and the food is great. Here's one of the interior shots I took...the restaurant has a very warm, welcoming vibe:

28. Your photos do their food primo justice!
Coming from an area that is rich with great Mexican food, your food porn does their menu justice. I would love to take a dunk in the margarita and hope their food tastes as delish as it looks.

Congrats on the job - you've done yourself proud!

30. Thanks abbeyco...
...the food is full of flavor but it is "clean"...you don't see any greasy plates here.

This is what I tell restaurant owners. In this economy, people want to see what they're going to spend their money on before they spend it.

This man listened. I'm excited about finishing his site in the next week or so and making Silicon Valley HUNGRY once I post it.
