Could tough guys really crush beer cans on their foreheads in the 1950's?
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 06:16 PM by Throd
I've heard from older folks of people doing this back in the day, but I don't see how it is possible. I have some beer cans from the 1950's. They are made from steel with a welded seam. I think ramming one of these cans against your noggin with enough force to dent it would result in massive bleeding from lacerations caused by the heavy gauge rim.

Any of you older folk remember this firsthand?

1. Not only could they do it, they could do it with an unopened can of beer that had
frozen solid in a cold-chest filled with dry ice

I don't know what ever became of those heroes of our great American past: we don't hear much from them any more
