2. We're having some really nice breezes right now with not-so-hard rain.

The really strong weather is supposed to come on Sunday. I hope it won't cause any problems.

3. Our forecast, 90 miles north of Mobile, calls for rain tomorrow!!??
But looking at the maps, the tracking, the radar loops, I don't see it. All the projections are for it to hit us late Sunday.
Still, they just changed the forecast this afternoon from 30% to 90% rain for the whole weekend.

13. White stuff called "snow" actually falls from the air!
Edited on Sat Sep-03-11 11:32 PM by liberaltrucker
And sometimes it accumulates on the ground!

Usually a few inches but occasionally a couple
of feet. Shoveling it off the walkway is GREAT
exercise!

:)

8. I guess it'll be early to mid-morning when it comes through my area. It depends
Edited on Sat Sep-03-11 01:39 AM by pacalo
on how slow- or fast-moving it is. Generally, if we haven't had a hurricane by late August or early September, it's doubtful we'll have one at all; there are always exceptions to the rule to be concerned about, though.

I hope your area won't have any problems, either. You're as close to the water as I. Our home is in between the Mississippi River & Pontchartrain Lake (huge lake). The Gulf of Mexico is probably a 100 miles away, but considering all the bodies of water surrounding us, we're practically in a soup bowl.

Take care, dixiegrrrrl. :hi:

10. Hey pacalo...poor LA has had way too much crap thrown at it.
And we both know a 100 miles inland means little when there is nothing but flat low lying land between the Gulf and our houses..

I picked our area because we are a whopping 464 feet above sea level....lol.

14. (Putting dixiegrrrrl on hold...) Is that the BEST YOU COULD DO, LEE?
Sorry, dixiegirrrrl -- The tropical storm was nothing more than rain, rain, rain with gusty winds.

Nothing to worry about.

7. Aw, thanks, liberaltrucker.
:hi:

We're used to this nasty weather at this time of year. As long as the roads are okay to drive on, we'll be fine. :)
