I remember thinking how cool it was going to be to have the guy from Spencer for Hire as the lead in a Star Trek spinoff...and then I tune into the first episode, and he's got hair on his head and no goatee!!!

Once Avery Brooks went back to the "Hawk" look, DS9 really started kicking some butt.

1. IMO, DS9 has been underrated
I think DS9 had some of the best writing on Trek. The characters actully grew/evolved over time. Far better than Voyager and Enterprise!

2. I just watched the first episode for the first time
A little slow but it has potential. Plan to hang in for a few hours and tape the rest. Grew up with Star Trek and and really LOVED TNG.
