I NEED Audio help, please! |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-05-04 11:28 AM by supernova
I seem to have lost my sound... totally. I was listeing to AA off the web and then .... nothing. I thought I lost the stream, but the player was performing normally.
I don't get any error messages that a device is not attched or not functioning properly.
I haven't hit any "mute" settings.
Just before this, I noticed that I wasn't getting stereo. I was only getting sound from one speaker.
Any suggestions? Is my sound card gone?

A recording on RP says to tune in during regular broadcast hours. :wtf:
Site was down earlier, but is back up.
They seem to be having some streaming glitches.
IF you are wondering about whether it is a personal computer problem, use RP to pull up another station.
Also, AA seems to be streaming in mono. Doubt they would be doing stereo and sucking up all that bandwidth.

and it didn't help.
I keep thinking I'm something missing basic.
I have a seperate powered system with subwoofer. It's got power and the speakers are hooked up. I haven't messed with the set up since I set it up 4.5 years ago.

you play windows sounds? Control sounds icon. Is the volume control showing up in the sys tray? My first thought is sound card driver. What is your sound card, make and model? If you are using like Sound Blaster Live and windows ME there is a known issue with whats called 16bit emulation. Let me know and we'll go from there.

drivers. Do you have the CD that has your sound card drivers? If so lets do this. Right click on my computer, goto properties, then device manager. Find the sound card and choose remove is. Reboot the computer and when windows finds the sound card direct the install to the sound card cd. If you don't have the CD or it doesn't work let me know and we'll d/l new drivers
