Anyone else getting chilled by all the first person accounts of 9/11 on the tv. I find it
so sad to hear people who were so traumatized and tried to help but were helpless...and still seem to feel that way. Then I remember the special investigation that nbc did on the ground zero area in the months after 9/11. They dressed people in muslim garb, gave them hidden cameras and sent them to ground zero to see how they were treated. It showed people coming up to them and saying "are you okay, are you being left alone". And I cried. Hard. And realized I too felt stunned and helpless on that day 10 years ago. But I got relief by finding good, loving people in the world. And I want the people who are still suffering from events surrounding 9/11 to find that peace too.

10. I saw some on CBC. But mostly CNN. They are following the people who were in the 'footnotes' of the
9/11 report.

4. Baby Blip????
I lost over 300 friends and coworkers that day. I lost seven family members..3/4 quarters of my wedding party. I spent months digging through rubble trying to give families closure. I stood in dirt, dust, fire and pools of blood. I handled bodies and parts of bodies, including those of innocent women and children. I lived in a walking coma for a year afterward, unable to "feel" anything. I watched my friends who survived die from cancer, suicide, alcoholism and drug abuse. I still shake when a plane flies too low, and cant stand the smell of fuel. I watched as a criminal in the White House, used my pain and trauma as an excuse to launch an illegal war, that killed thousands more Americans and untold numbers of innocent Iraqi civilians..Sorry but I cannot just "let it go" Peace...

9. Three of my cousins...
are brothers who will never fully recover: one missed his (doomed) flight from Boston so has 'survivor guilt', one lost his roommate in tower one, and one is a Virginia firefighter who dealt with the horrors in the Pentagon. Politics aside, this event shattered many lives. I am so sorry for your losses and multi-level trauma.

12. Are they talking to Iraqis and Afghans, too?
Seems to me we've paid back the rest of the world to a very high proportion for the deaths in a one-off nearly 10 years ago. And we did it in a very systematic, sustained, and well-funded effort to kill 10, 100, 1,000 or more for every death in the United States that day. Are the teevee people asking folks in Iraq and Afghanistan how they feel about their deceased fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters being luckless enough to get in the way of the American wehrmacht?

I didn't have anything to do with the September 11 attack. But my money and my country have been used since then to visit retribution on a whole lot of people who never had anything to do with the September 11 attack either.
