Dumped again, kinda sorta, I guess
Cause he never had the nerve to say it: "Bye and better luck next time"

Considering what some folks here are going through, it's pretty small potaters. But it still kinda hurts.

But I know that folks here know what it's like, which is why I share it.

*sigh* Ah well. Someday I will understand why it is that you just shouldn't put your heart out there. LOL
:(

1. Sorry
he didn't have the sense to appreciate you but it doesn't sound like he was worthy of you anyway to treat you like that. Try and do something nice for yourself to take your focus off the sadness, like a hobby or small craft project. (((HUGS))).

3. Rejection is God's protection.
I'm not a very religious person, but I do think there is some truth in this adage.
Heartache sucks, but there are better days ahead. Carry on...

4. Live and learn
Make a list of all the reasons he wasn't right for you, then you will have a better idea of what you are looking for and feel better that you got out of this relationship. I know it still hurts.

6. what are you doing saturday night? I'm free.
of course, I'm also in my 60s, bald, overweight, poor and I smell bad. Other than that, I'm quite a catch. Seriously, someone will come along who will value you for who you are.

7. Remember. You've now figured out one more aspect of who the perfect person is (isn't) for you.
Learn these lessons well and happiness will be yours.

8. I've been dumped many times. Got kind of used to it.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-11 01:01 PM by The Velveteen Ocelot
In fact, I'd come to expect it. Not the greatest attitude, I guess...

But now that I'm old, fat and invisible I don't worry about it so much any more because I no longer have the chance to have relationships to get dumped from. There are advantages to being old; you don't get your ass kicked emotionally any more.

It does suck, though, doesn't it? Hang in there.

12. Maybe this isn't the right time or place, Velveteen, but I think we should see other people.

10. "Cause he never had the nerve to say it: "Bye and better luck next time""
What did he do, go off for a pack of smokes and never return?

11. Ouch. Come down to Houston and I'll buy you a drink.
Maybe the fool didn't get it was a joke when he read my book.

But seriously, it's not a mistake to put your heart out there. It's a mistake not to. It hurts because you're one of the good guys.

13. Kimi....you are choosing the wrong guys....
at the wrong times, probably.

The timing is not under your control,
but the type of men you fall for IS.

Newly unattached is a bit disorienting and discomforting for a while, isn't it?
