Sad. I just realized it's football season |
|
Never been much of a fan myself but it was always big with hubby's family; especially his mom. She was always cheering and getting into it. I don't understand the game much myself but her enthusiasm was infectious. With his mom's passing this past summer it will be the first football season without her.
It makes me miss her all over again.

1. That has to be so hard |
|
Would a game party in her memory be a good idea? I realize the value of that totally depends on the person/people involved.
I would think she would get a kick out of a gathering to watch a game with her favorite people, food & drink. Just a thought.
So sorry for your loss.

As for football, I understand the game. I just don't understand why people are interested in the game.
It's the most boring sport on earth. Every 30 seconds something starts to happen, then time out. Someone's been tackled. Stop the game.
Compare to soccer, they hardly every stop moving in that game. It's constant action. And Basketball is very fast paced. Basketball almost requires too much effort to pay attention that closely.
Football otoh, requires the patience of a saint and an attention span a mile wide.

6. I grew up in Texas and played organized football from the time I was in 5th grade |

through High School. I fiendishly jones for football when it is not in season. I will watch peewee football, lingerie football even stupid Arena Football just to get me through until my beloved Dallas Cowboys and Florida State Seminoles once again gird their loins and sally forth to do battle on fields of glory.

Loved that my Mom got into baseball, watched w Dad. Mom passed 2 years ago, and Dad's vision so impaired he can't enjoy it.
Still have baseball interest in the family, and I enjoy it too (if MY team's winning!)
