am I in some kind of karmic limbo or what?
Got the "new" laptop (went with the hP) and a little external dial up modem. I was starting to get worried it wouldn't get delivered today and I would have to wait until Monday. Got the call from UPS dispatch around 4:30 to go meet the driver up at the end of the road. Got home and read the start up instructions and spent a few minutes deleting norton and getting a feel for both windows 7 and the machine itself (first laptop) . Then I plugged in the modem and tried to remember my password for my ISP. Right about then...BOOM! Big clap of thunder. Damn. Quickly disconnect all plugs and wires. It has been rumbling since. So while I will NEVER turn down the rain - about a half inch so far, nice and slow despite the electrical activity, I still am using this stupid phone to go on line:cry:

I know, :nopity:
But on the bright side the upgrades of solitaire and minesweeper are amusing!

1. Glad you got your computer, finally, Kali,
and also thrilled you got some rain! Has it been as dry where you are as it's been in Texas?

:hi:

3. Cox Communications has some sort of system problem here (for MONTHS according to the newspaper)...
.
.
.
... where we lose our Intertubes connection 3-6x/day. Somebody has to go to the main desktop
and unplug and unscrew the modem for about a minute and then replug and rescrew and wait about
a minute before the connection is back.
.
I've been rediscovering the joys of Solitaire, too.
