Heart's Ann Wilson — no Auto-Tune, please!
Heart, fronted by sisters Nancy and Ann Wilson, opens for Def Leppard Thursday at White River Amphitheatre, playing songs from the band's 35-year career, during which it has sold more than 30 million albums.

In a phone interview this week, Ann Wilson talked about a range of subjects, including Seattle, Def Leppard, women in rock and Auto-Tune.

1. You don't need autotune if you can actually sing!
Good article, if short.

2. I f'ing hate "auto-tune"
just like I hate musical theater and opera that uses MICROPHONES!

:puke:

Let those who can actually SING - perform. I'm sick of "pretty faces" that can't actually carry a gd tune in a bucket. Hell, they can't even tune the freaking radio without help.

god help us all the new stars are disney creations.

3. i have told it before
but my dear departed aunt who had a few hit records and performed regulary at the grand old opry, used to get a kick out of the "stars" in todays music. her favorite expression was " he/she couldnt carry a tune in a washtub!" lol. RIP aunt skeeter, we miss you so much.

4. I think autotune can sound tasteful and subtle when used in a meaningful way.
