Several hours ago I came back home after being away for a couple of days. I decided to turn on the sprinklers, one in the back yard and one in the front. I live in central Texas, north of Austin, and the last time I remember rain at my house was late April or early May. Things here are dying, and I am trying to save my remaining peach, plum and pecan trees. But, others are appreciative as well.
In the back yard, the dragonfly, the bee and the wasp all swarmed to have a drink. I filled a small wash basin for the stray cats and other thirsty critters who live in the area, and even the ants came by.
In the side yard, up in the Cottonwood tree, the blue jay and the grackle rejoiced at the opportunity to take a bath. And the side window was now Netflix for my kitties. Enjoy your afternoon.
