Do you have a favorite Woody Allen Movie?
Growing up I loved Woody's films, especially the "early, funny movies" (a joke fans will get). But when I was coming of age my parents took me to see MANHATTAN, and I just watched it again for the first time in decades, and it is pure magic. I can't say it's my favorite, because there are a half dozen films he made that I appreciate more than I can express.

I was just wondering what my DU friends here think about his films. Have any favorites?

Another one I loved was RADIO DAYS. He made some awful films too, but that's part of his charm.

1. Hannah and Her Sisters
It's a fine film and the last line in the script is priceless.

I hate to burst your bubble, but that line came from "Annie Hall".

2. The latest one
I really enjoyed Midnight in Paris. Tried to watch Annie Hall yesterday and gave up after 20 minutes.

3. When I saw Midnight in Paris, I thought to myself, 'wow...
that's the most enjoyable Woody Allen film I've seen in a decade." And then I looked it up. It was actually the most enjoyable Woody Allen film I'd seen since 1994, when Bullets over Broadway came out. I loved that film.

But I also love Interiors (many don't), Husbands and Wives, Annie Hall, Zelig, and many more.

6. Crimes and Misdeamoners is the pinnacle
The one and only time Allen came close to matching the craftsmanship and profundity of his idol, Bergman.

This movie confirms everything you feared was true about the universe.

39. My vote is for Crimes & Misdemeanors too.
One of those rare movies where you can never quite shake it off. Challenges the old adage of 'What goes around, comes around'...and what happens...when it doesn't?

Disturbing. The sign of truly great art!

12. Yep, I was going to call it the South/Central American one
But really, I pretty much detest him now (ever since the whassername episode) and what it meant to Ms Mia, although I have NO idea how she went to SINATRA in the first place OR to ALLEN in the first or second place.

Plus, for me his movies have a sort of "Mad Magazine" tone to them and I have never understood why he's got such a fan base.

15. Two thoughts: Could ANNIE HALL possibly be over-rated, and
I always thought highly of CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS and, as I mentioned in the OP, RADIO DAYS.

Don't get me wrong; ANNIE HALL is a great movie, but he has done better.

Guilty pleasures: EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX--I thought that was hilarious. And as some others have mentioned, BANANAS and also TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN.

17. I used to think Manhattan and then I saw Crimes and Misdemeanors
Probably his esoteric best.

But the humor of dating after divorce is killer in Play It Again Sam. It never makes the list because it is not over the top like Sleeper or Annie Hall.
This one has my number. Losing Susan Anton, he gets advice from his friends Tony Goldwyn and Diane Keaton. He falls for her instead.
Classic beatdown in the theater line and after the show with the Van Gogh remarks. I watch it every time it's on.

50. Several
Radio Days, Annie Hall, Love and Death in its day. I don't know if Annie Hall is overrated, but every damn line in that movie is memorable. Bullets Over Broadway and Curse of the Jade Scorpion are my faves from the second tier. Also that one where Mia Farrow (whom I generally cannot STAND) is going to a Chinese doctor in Chinatown.
