Another day, another $2500... |
|
...one of my clients approved an upgrade / redesign of their Website this evening. Because of their budget, the $2500 will come in the form of monthly payments: $500, $500, $400, $400, $400, $300. But hey...$2500 spread out over six months still adds up to $2500.
Thank you for the FAMOUS DU vibes...please keep them coming. I need to work some MAJOR sales miracles in the 17 remaining days of the month.
As Dorothea Brande wrote...quite famously...in her book "Wake Up And Live," the time has come for me to "act as if it were impossible to fail."
And as John Belushi...also quite famously...said in "Animal House," "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
Er...maybe you'd better scratch that last one.

I've always enjoyed Brande's quote, now if I could ever fully integrate it into my conscious thinking... :)
Keep up the great work my friend!

Today was a 14 hour day...left at 6:30 AM, got back at 8:30 PM.
I've never been afraid of "sweat equity," and in the last month, it's paid off handsomely ($4125 in sales). I need to make more than that, but compared to the first half of 2011, it SMOKES.

3. In the theater watching "Tora Tora Tora" when it came out (1970?) with my friends Bob & Bill... |
|
. . . ... and, no shit... during a quiet lull in the movie, Bob seriously asks, "So, when do the Germans show up?" . . . In our circle of smalltown Midwestern culturally ignant friends... Bob was about the only one of us who had "discovered" acid... and he discovered it with a passion!!! . . . Congratulations -- success and confidence vibes still coming your way. . . .

4. Unsolicited feedback from one of my biggest clients: |
|
"Mike, would you like to know why I decided to do business with you?"
ME: "Sure."
"It was your passion. I knew I could find a Web Designer anywhere. I didn't think I could find anyone with your passion."
The challenge is to have that passion when you owe people money and they are saying and doing bad things to you.
But ultimately, that is the only way. The reason I got the two Mexican restaurants recently is that I approached the owners with confidence and passion...and I had the goods to back it up.
Having the goods without having confidence and passion is like hiding a gold doubloon under a big rock, you know?

8. Thanks CP...and this morning, I spoke to one of my existing clients... |
|
...a dentist, who showed the Website I did for them to another dentist who "loved it," and they are meeting with him on Monday.
I was told "I don't know how serious he is, but we'll find out."
My dentist Websites are priced at $3500.
Please keep the vibes coming!

9. I have a coffee mug from sales gur Jeffrey Gitomer... |
|
...and it says "Coffee Is For Closers" on the side!
But yeah...nothing tops off a nice sale like a nice strong cuppa joe.

...yes, as the sales gurus say, I intend to "finish the year strong."
Next month, many of my competitors are going to start getting discouraged and back off on their efforts until the first of the year.
Meanwhile, I'll be up early every morning, spreading joy to business owners all over Silicon Valley!
