For the first time she is alone most of the day. She's right at the door when I come home. I spend 10 minutes bonding with her when I get home and she purrs and purrs and rubs up against me in kinda a desperate way. I think she is pretty lonely. I can't get another cat because my parents have another one of mine, and they likely will be moving into a nursing home in the next ten years, so I will then have two cats then which is my limit. Do cats really use those carpetted jungle gyms?

1. There are many older cats at shelters waiting for a home.
Just a thought.

2. That's a great idea. Unfortunately I don't know when my parents will have to move. Could be any time
in the next decade.

5. Here is a related idea:
We have a no-kill shelter nearby that routinely needs foster families for adult kitties. You could give a foster cat a home for an indefinite amount of time. If it comes down to it you could return the kitty to the shelter if you need to take in your other cat (and at least the foster kitty wouldn't be homeless).

3. Maybe
some of those Rescue Remedy plug-ins? They are supposed to reduce stress in cats.

4. Cats LOVE those carpeted jungle gyms.
Mine have this one, and they just about live on and in it.
