Poll question: Men: Pretty in pink or not? Are you man enough to wear pink?
Men, Dare You Be THIS Bold?

Only men who are secure, sophisticated, and daring can do what the menswear designers, retailers, and style magazines are jointly promoting: wear PINK. As in pink dress shirts, pink ties, and even pink boots and pink sweaters. We're talking everything from a soft pastel to bright coral to shocking fuchsia.
<snip>

Why pink? Why now? "The world is a bit of a dark place right now. People want to go out and feel happy about themselves," Peter Nyhan, general merchandise manager for menswear at Harrods in London, told the Journal. Proof positive: A hot pink blazer is all the rage at Harrods. We kid you not.
<snip>

Just think pink! It's the new macho color.

So, any DUers, male or female care to weigh in on this latest fashion trend?

2. Pink is cool
I have a grey-green dress suit, and pink looks best with it for a dress shirt. Also, I'm wearing a pink tee shirt even as I type this. I can't imagine a guy so insecure that he'd actually concern himself with pink not being masculine enough.
But I guess that why so many GOP needle-dicks have to drive those huge, penis-substitute SUVs.
John
Anyhow, I'm pro-pink.

25. In my house, I do the laundry. Most of the underwear is pink.
And they can bloody well go out and buy new ones if they feel they need to; they knew I was laundry-impaired when they got me.

Lots of pink jockey shorts and Tees at my house. These days, they opt for dark underwear. As a result, the predominant color of the jockeys/Tees is dingy gray.

11. Back in the 1800s, baby boys were dressed in pink and girls in blue...
Nothing wrong with pink on a guy, but a slightly darker shade looks best.

12. I would wear pink IF I could get this shirt..
In Dragonball-Z; not long after Vegeta returns to Earth, Bulma gives him a pink shirt. He freaks out because it is pink, but wears it anyway. It's a button up, standard dress shirt that is pink.

With the word "Badman" in big black letters on the back.

13. My husband has several, maybe maroon, but really pink
shirts. My two teen daughters hate them. They get very upset so he doesn't wear them now. That and the sunglasses...sigh. I don't care what he wears. He's always liked bright colors so I'm used to it.

I think Kerry needs to ditch the pink tie!!!! It looks good on him but doesn't work for many voters.

Society has portrayed pink as a feminine color. I will never wear pink...whether it's a trend or not. If other males want to wear it, that's fine, but I won't.

I'll stick to my dark colors, thank you very much.

18. Hmm...
I guess I should have figured with your sig line pic.

What traits would you consider as part of a male's "feminine side"? Do you think having one is a bad thing?

20. I don't think a man having a feminine side is a bad thing...
it just doesn't work for me. I'm more of the outdoor-sports-manual labor-swearing-masculine kind of guy.

I think a man's feminine side consists of a man being more "in-touch" with his feelings. I tend to hide mine a lot. I don't know. I guess that's what I see a man's feminine side as being.

It's no way, shape, or form a bad thing, though.

21. Been wearing pink since before it was "preppy"...
...But I never pay them fashion trends no never-mind. I got: pink sox, pink shirts (polo and sleeved), pink tie, pink bow-tie. Got lots of pink. Indeed, I wore a pink shirt and a pink/grey bow-tie at my wedding last year. Mmm--mmm, dare I say it? The ladies loved it! They shorely did.

Pink rules!

22. I'm a woman and I don't wear pink!
I've never seen a man in pink; not sure what I'd think of that. My objection to pink (for myself) is the sickening pretty-in-pink-frilly-sugar-and-spice-weak-helpless-little-girl vibe I get from it. When I have to buy a baby gift for someone, I absolutely refuse to buy anything in pink or blue; I always choose a gender-neutral color.

24. My Pachuka
shipmate in Japan Early fifties had a tailor make for him a pink suit with black stripes down outside seam of trousers. The jacket had extra long length and was trimmed in black. Pants were baggy with spiked cuffs; one fancy suit indeed. We went to the Non Com club in Yokohama. The Soldier checking IDs said "Sorry Sailor you cannot come into the club in your pajamas."

But the ones to blame for all the fuck ups we're in are wearing suits and dresses and work in the White House.

The guys who use the wear the uniform, like Tony Zinni, Eric Shinseki, Scott Ritter, John Kerry, Max Cleland, Wes Clark and a bunch of others beg to differ.

32. Oh, yes...
I'm old enough to remember the 1950's when pink was a very manly color, believe it or not. Charcoal slacks & a pink button-down shirt; white sports coat & a pink carnation; etc., etc.... I still like to wear it, and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.
