The art of satire is alive and well
(if not exactly thriving) on DU.

My own modest effort in this genre was last seen near the bottom of page 1 in the Lounge. In it, I allude to a well-known essay by Jonathan Swift. Many DUers will remember Swift's essay, which is probably the best known satire of all time. Swift of course was familiar with Horace and Juvenal, who had perfected the genre in ancient times.

I invite writers who are interested in satire to view my latest effort, either here in the Lounge (if they can find it), or in my journal. If you feel you can do better, go for it! If you feel that my satire could be improved, you are of course welcome to indicate this by replying to my thread.
