1. They got no offense without Manning. |

What middle school did they get Collins from?
Sigh.

3. They made the boneheaded mistake of not planning for the future. |
|
As if they thought Manning were made of Teflon and invincible. They should have been drafting for a good backup QB for a while now, instead of getting a hometown favorite in Painter and, in panic mode, pulling Collins out of a much-deserved retirement. They should have taken a clue from what Green Bay did with Aaron Rogers.
I have to say they did look sharper than the past two weeks, especially the defense, but if you can't get it done offensively, it all goes down the drain. I had no expectation of the Colts winning even after the late TD because all the Steelers had to do was get down into field goal range. But at least the Colts made it a game.
Painter's bad, yes, but then again, he's mainly been a benchwarmer. And we may have to get used to him if Collins is still out with the concussion. I guess an Indy Star columnist seriously threw out the suggestion of contacting Brett Favre. I scoffed at it at first but now, sad to say, that may not be a half-bad idea.

5. Most teams are thin in the backup quarterback. |

The Packers were very lucky to get Rodgers (btw thanks San Fran).

8. That's the problem when the entire team is built |
|
around one guy. The offense is nothing without Peyton Manning, who by the time he retires will be the no-doubt-about-it greatest QB in the history of the game, and the defense is built to play with a big lead, put up by a Manning-led offense.
They're in deep trouble without their one indispensable player.

10. Since they stopped producing modern revolvers there is nothing special about them. |
|
Colt makes the original 1911 .45 govt. pistol, but many companies make those now. And many make copies of the '73 "Peacemaker" revolver, too. They ought to bring back the detective special.
